Audrey's Wisdom: Laughing is the Best Medicine

September 26, 2016

Laughing cures a multitude of illnesses. The woman of class and grace said it herself, and let's be completely honest here, what's better than a good laugh?

Having a bad day? Laugh. Need a spike of energy to finish a grueling project? Laugh! Don't believe me? There's actually evidence to back this up! According to WebMD, laughing has positive benefits on your blood flow, immune system, relaxation, and many other things! Plus, it's basically a miniature workout.

By the way, this was also endorsed by the lovely Miss Hepburn, in case you were wondering.

Bet you never thought of that, huh? Laughing is exercise?? Darling, if the simple act of laughing didn't burn any calories at all, I'd think we'd all be more likely to break down in tears. Laughing is joy knowing we're causing fat some distress. No wonder it perks up your dopamine levels (in case you were wondering, that's your happiness hormone.)

Go ahead and try it. Just TRY and make yourself laugh. Bet you can't NOT do it. The first person who ever said laughing is contagious was on to something.

My last piece of wisdom from Audrey today is to just be HAPPY. If you give it your honest effort, you can find at least ONE thing everyday to be happy about. Whether that simply be that the sun came out, that you had food to eat for breakfast, or that you got to work on time. You can find that ONE thing. The more you strive for gratitude, the happier you with be.

A thankful heart, is a happy heart.

Ta!
